Battery capacity moves up to 5000mAh and charging jumps from 25W to 45W, which addresses one of the more persistent criticisms of Samsung's foldable lineup. The display is also expected to move closer to a crease-free solution, something the entire foldable category has been working toward. The Galaxy Z Flip 8 looks like a more conservative update. A 6.9-inch inner screen and 4.1-inch outer screen are the numbers being cited, and the chip choice is still unsettled between Snapdragon and Exynos depending on the market. The more interesting detail from recent reports is that Samsung is apparently reassessing the Z Flip product line's positioning entirely, which suggests this generation might serve as a transition point rather than a straightforward upgrade cycle.
On the wearables side, Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 are both expected at the same event. The big change here is a platform switch to the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear Elite chip, moving away from the Exynos-based solution the watches have used. Local AI capabilities are expected to expand, 5G connectivity is getting an upgrade, and health monitoring accuracy is reportedly improved.
