Redmi just made it official and I am already looking forward to June 30 more than I expected to.

The K90 Ultra launch event is confirmed for June 30 at 7 PM, and this one feels different from a standard announcement. The K90 series has always had something interesting going on at the back, and from what is shaping up around this Ultra model, Redmi appears to be building on that foundation in a way that has me genuinely curious about what they are about to show.

Here is everything confirmed and leaked so far.

The active cooling system is the feature that stands out most to me. Redmi is calling this a Vortex Airflow Design with a built-in fan, not a passive heat pipe arrangement that most phones rely on. The K90 Max was already doing interesting things with thermal management and the K90 Ultra appears to take that further with actual mechanical airflow inside the chassis. That kind of engineering in a phone targeting the 3K yuan segment is not something you see every day, and it is a big part of why I am watching this launch closely.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite processor paired with an 8500mAh battery is the combination that makes the performance claim credible. Lu Weibing, Xiaomi's partner and president of the mobile phone division, said directly last week that the K90 Ultra fully inherits the hardcore gaming DNA of the K90 Max and delivers the same flagship-level experience at this price point. That is not careful marketing language, that is a direct promise about where this phone sits in the competitive landscape.

100W wired charging on an 8500mAh cell means a full charge in a reasonable window rather than the multi-hour wait that large batteries usually demand. IP68 and IP69 ratings cover both submersion and high-pressure water resistance, which is a durability combination that goes beyond what most gaming-focused phones bother to certify. The ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner completes a spec sheet that reads closer to a 5K or 6K yuan device than something targeting 3K in China but in India we can't say how much it going to cost but we can gess the price range it might be around 45k to 50k inr.

The 6.89-inch 1.5K OLED at 165Hz is a large panel with a refresh rate built for gaming. LTPS keeps power consumption manageable compared to LTPO alternatives while still delivering the smoothness that gaming sessions demand.

Based on what leaked sources including blogger DigitalChatStation have reported, the peripheral specifications match the K90 Max closely, meaning buyers do not sacrifice on supporting hardware by choosing the Ultra over the more expensive sibling.

June 30 is six days away. Whatever Redmi has done at the back of this phone, I want to see it in person.
